It’s finally here! Tomorrow I will be leaving for the month-long Jivamukti Yoga teacher training!
If you haven’t already heard the news (and sent me multiple “sad-face” messages), Cookie Devi will be on hiatus while I am away. But I will be back at the end of May, and have some new cookie ideas in mind!
I am also taking a technology vacation, so there will be no new blog posts or FB messages while I am away, but I’ll be keeping a journal and will definitely provide an update upon my return.
Thank you to everyone for all of your support, whether it was helping with my fundraising efforts, or supporting my businesses. I look forward to sharing my new adventure with you when I get back.
Love and Om,
“Linguistically and vibrationally it expresses our deepest core. The elegant sounds of Sanskrit gently coax our hearts to soar to their highest potential, the luminous whole that we all are.”
As I briefly spoke about in my last post about the power of om, Sanskrit is a vibrational language that you can feel in every ounce of your body. When speaking Sanskrit words out loud, or especially when chanting them, there is a potency that taps into the core essence of the universe. Because of this, it is said that even if you don’t know the meaning of the words you are chanting, you still get all of the benefit of saying them.
Exactly 3 months ago I started memorizing the first chapter of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Samadhih Padah, and today (the timing is completely unintentional…) I finished my goal…2 1/2 weeks ahead of schedule! (And although I just stated that even if you don’t know what it means, you get the benefit, I do know what some of it means, and I read it in English too!!)
Some say (i.e. Tamar) that my cookies taste so good because I chant sutras while I am making them. Well, here you go – as promised, attached is a video of me chanting the entire first chapter…while baking. If you want to order some of these magic cookies, you can do so here.
I’ve also posted the first chapter here, so you can chant with me 🙂
I will be a offering a special limited edition Chocolate Lavender cookie for Valentine’s Day! $20 for a box of 4. Order yours today!
Introducing my new line of cookies:
Featuring the following three flavors:
Sukham Dukham (or for you non-Sanskrit-philes, Sweet suffering 😉
Double Chocolate Chip Walnut
Who knew my cookies would be such a big hit! Since people keep asking me what the name of my cookies are, and my current answer is that they are the only vegan and/or gluten free cookies being offered at the store, I think it’s about time they are blessed with a name. So…
I need your help!
If you are so inclined, send me an email/Facebook message/text/comment below with a name for my cookies, and a reason why you chose said name. I will compile all of the names until Saturday, January 19th, and the winner will be given a box of cookies, and the honor of being the person who helped me name them!
Feel free to spread the word! Get naming!
**Cookies will be mailed if the person who wins is outside of my delivery area (i.e. the 5 boroughs).
Beginning tomorrow you can purchase my vegan, gluten-free, soy-free cookies at all three locations of The Bean in NYC!
Flavors currently available are Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip Walnut and Oatmeal Raisin. Peanut Butter coming soon!
